It's Valentine's Day, a time for making up rather than breaking up, one might think.

But outspoken conditioning coach Alex Ariza, who was recently canned by world champion Amir Khan and who fired back that the fighter's manager-father, Shad is "a cab driver" out of place in big time boxing, seems to have split the sheets with yet another star.

Shah Khan was a cabdriver or cab owner before his son became an international ring star.

Ariza, a native of Colombia, seems to be in solid with his highest paying client and Main Man-ny, last name Pacquiao.

But a boxing birdie reported to me Monday morning that Ariza, who once repeatedly pimp slapped Pacman agent Michael Koncz during a dispute in Baguio, has separated now from another Freddie Roach trained boxer, Mexico's rising star Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr.

I spoke briefly with Coach Freddie Roach after the Pacman-Sugar Shane Mosley presser at Chelsea Piers. The esteemed trainer said Ariza remains an integral part of Team Pacman.

"There are no problems, no issues, between me, Alex and Manny," Roach said.

In firing back at Team Khan, Ariza alleged that Khan's uncle and some henchmen "burlgarized" his hotel room in Las Vegas and purloined contracts he has or had with all three big name boxers.

I would've asked Coach Ariza for his side of the Chavez story but I did not see him present at the press conference.

Just to show you that "love" was in the air, Manny's wife, Jinkee, sat at the same luncheon table with Sugar Shane Mosley's trainer and classy gentleman Nazim Richardson.

Richardson offered high praise for Jinkee's hubby as a person, above and beyond being a great fighter.

"Manny is doing so much for the Philippines and for the world," Richardson said directly to Mrs. P's face. I get the feeling that Manny is the same kind of guy, the same giving and caring person now that he was when he didn't have a penny to his name. Shane is the same way."

Jinkee beamed at the trainer's unsolicited remarks.
