The rematch between Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Canizales has reportedly been set for August 1 in Caracas.

Mauricio Sulaiman has taken to social media to say the WBC will review the performance of the judges in the vacant light-flyweight title between Panya Pradabsri and Carlos Canizales.

Venezuela’s Carlos Canizales was another victim of boxing’s infinitely flawed scoring system when he was judged a loser in his fight with Panya Pradabsri for the vacant WBC light-flyweight title.

This week was originally supposed to bring us Naoya Inoue vs. Sam Goodman - but the cupboard isn't completely bare

In an action-packed, nip-and-tuck affair that saw both men floored (Carlos Canizales from an overhand right to the top of the head in round two, Kenshiro Teraji from a right cross to the jaw late in round three), Teraji retained his WBA/WBC light flyweight titles in Osaka by majority decision.

By Jake Donovan - Kenshiro Teraji retained his championship in an early Fight of the Year contender. The defending lineal/WBC/WBA junior flyweight king turned away a stiff challenge from Carlos Canizales to eke out a majority decision win in their terrific action fight. Judge Jeremy Hayes (113-113) had the fight even through twelve furiously paced rounds, overruled by judges Jun Bae Lim (114-112) and Omar Mintun (114-112) for Teraji in their Amazon Prime-Japan/ESPN+ main event Tuesday at EDION Arena in Osaka, Japan.

A stateside tour—or at least a visit—could be in Kenshiro Teraji’s future. The two-time and reigning lineal, WBC and WBA junior flyweight champion has thus far spent his entire ten-year pro career at home in Japan. That tradition continues on Tuesday, when he defends his crown versus WBA mandatory

by Cliff Rold - If being up before the sun to catch an intriguing championship boxing match is your cup of tea, there are mere hours to wait. On Tuesday (ESPN+, 4 AM EST), the best junior flyweight in the world is riding a four fight knockout streak featuring the two most important victories of his career. Japan’s Kenshiro avenged his lone loss via knockout and followed it with a dominant unification victory. He’s still speculating on the chance to be the first undisputed king at 108 pounds.

Kenshiro Teraji once again put to rest any rumors of his struggling to make the junior flyweight limit. The reigning lineal, WBC and WBA junior flyweight champion has been under the 108-pound divisional limit for every title fight spanning two title reigns. Teraji continued that streak as he hit the scales at a finely-tuned 107.4 pounds for the fourth defense of his current reign versus Venezuela’s Carlos Canizales, who was 107 ½ pounds.
