MGM Grand, LAS VEGAS - On Tuesday a confident Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-2) made his 'Grand Arrival' to the MGM to officially kick off fight week for his highly anticipated rematch against Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (38-0-1). The bout takes place at the T-Mobile Arean and will be distributed by HBO pay-per-view.
Their first fight ended in a controversial split draw with insiders and fans alike having different opinions on who won the fight. Both fighters thought that they deserved the victory and are very confident that they will clearly win the second time around.
"This Saturday I will win without a doubt," said Alvarez.
The 28-year-old Guadalajara native has already faced several of the top names in the sport such as Floyd Mayweather, Miguel Cotto and Shane Mosley but feels that this clash will be the the biggest of them all.
He has been under extra scrutiny due to his two positive tests for Clentuberol in February which has lead some observers to question his previous achievements. Alvarez knows that the best way to erase any doubts is to defeat Golovkin clearly in what will be his first fight since signing up for year round VADA testing.
"Yes I believe that this is the biggest fight of my career at this time. I feel relaxed and happy because with the help of God and the training that we put in for this fight we will come out with the win," Alvarez told BoxingScene.com
"I am very thankful for the fans that are there, that believe in me. I am very excited. I feel differently for this fight."
