Golden Boy Promotions representatives are on their way to Mexico to meet with WBC middleweight belt-holder Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs) and map out his next bout, which is scheduled for May 7th.

Alvarez, who is coming off his November 21st victory over Miguel Cotto, is now a bona-fide pay-per-view franchise and his next bout will be a pay-per-view event."As of now, yes,"confirmed Eric Gomez, the V.P. of Golden Boy on Friday morning as he was boarding his flight to Mexico.

But Gomez says that not all of 'Canelo's upcoming bouts will be on this platform.

"No, there will be some fights that we'll have live on the network(HBO) and it just depends on the level of opponent,"he says. Alvarez's May 9th blowout of James Kirkland in Houston was televised by HBO. But four of his last five bouts( Cotto, Erislandy Lara, Alfredo Angulo and Floyd Mayweather) were on pay-per-view.

The other question is: will Alvarez be a boxer - like Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao - who will be fighting just twice a calendar year from here on out?

2011 was the last year that he fought more than twice.

Gomez says,"(Saul) in fact has told us that his desire is to fight three times( a year). So if we can make that happen, by all means we're going to make it happen."
