It looks as though unbeaten super featherweight Francisco Vargas could return to the ring on March 8th in Las Vegas, NV, a source notified Boxingscene.com late Sunday night.

“No opponent yet, but it is more than likely going to be a 10-round bout.”

The fight will be part of the Golden Boy Promotions undercard that will take place at the MGM Grand. The card will be headlined by the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez-Alfredo Angulo super welterweight bout that was announced last week.

Vargas (18-0-1, 13 KOs), from Mexico City, DF, Mexico, has defeated very modest opposition in his last two fights. In his last fight on December 13th, Vargas won a 10 round unanimous over Jerry Belmontes in Indio, CA.

Prior to that bout, Vargas defeated Brandon Bennett by unanimous decision over 10 rounds on August 9th, also in Indio, CA.

The 29 year old, who has won two regional title belts so far in his professional career, is managed by Joel De La Hoya.
