Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez landed 52.7% of his power punches and landed 39 body shots in his eight round KO of Billy Joe Saunders Saunders. Saunders outlanded Canelo 31-18 in rounds 5-7 but Canelo turned it on in the eight landing 12 of 23 power shots.

AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas - In a unification showdown for the WBC, WBO, WBA super middleweight titles, a crowd of over 73,000 saw Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (56-1-2, 38 KOs) stop Billy Joe Saunders (30-1, 14 KOs) in eight rounds.

Saunders was moving and boxing in the eight. Canelo hurt Saunders with a punch that damaged his right eye. Saunders was then in survival mode as Canelo took over with big punches.

The fight was stopped before the start of the ninth, as there seemed to be a big problem with Saunders' eye.
