An already stacked card is expanding to a three-hour telecast with exciting showdowns presented by Premier Boxing Champions as rising unbeaten 2016 Olympian Eimantas Stanionis faces the toughest test of his young career when he battles Levan Ghvamichava and explosive heavyweight prospect Efe Ajagba steps into the ring looking to deliver another knockout performance live on FS1 and FOX Deportes Friday, August 24 from the Armory in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Jarrett Hurd: To appreciate what Hurd accomplished in his split-decision victory over Erislandy Lara on Saturday night in Las Vegas, one could look at the loser. Lara is one of the most-gifted active boxers, arguably the best fighter from Cuba since the heyday of Jose Napoles and Luis Rodriguez. He is a former amateur star. He is experienced, having fought professionally for a decade. And, because of his excellent defensive skills, he’s as fresh as any 34-year-old.
DeGale, Truax Rematch Photos Gallery - LAS VEGAS - James DeGale earned back the IBF Super Middleweight World Championship with a unanimous decision in a rematch with Caleb Truax, taking back the title he lost last December in the near-universal upset of the year.
James DeGale won back the IBF super middleweight title he lost in December to Caleb Truax with a bloody, 12-round unanimous decision. The fight was an immediate rematch of what many thought was the upset of the year in boxing in 2017.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas - James DeGale (24-1-1, 14 KOs) won a close twelve round unanimous decision over Caleb Truax (29-4-2, 18 KOs) to reclaim the IBF super middleweight title. The scores were 117-110, 114-113, 114-113.

Caleb Truax, normally a slow starter, created huge momentum in rounds 1-5 (110-44 overall, 20-4 jabs, 90-40 power) with constant aggression, much better volume (67 per round to 40.8 during that stretch) and ring generalship as he maneuvered James DeGale toward the ropes and pounded away at every opportunity.
Caleb Truax and the word ‘complacent’ do not go together. If they did, he would have been complacent to just be a contender, make decent money in boxing and move on from the sport when he finally hangs up the gloves for good. Instead, Truax put all his energy and determination into winning a world title belt, probably the furthest thing many boxing fans thought would have happened when he squared off against James DeGale almost four months ago.
