As previously reported, the "regular" featherweight world champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Celestino Caballero (36-4, 23KOs), is looking to capture his third divisional title, and has his sights set on undefeated Japanese boxer Takashi Uchiyama (18-0, 15KOS), the WBA champion at super featherweight. Caballero was not impressed with Uchiyama's eleventh round knockout of Mexican veteran Jorge Solis.

But before facing Uchiyama, 'Pelenchín' hopes to unify his title against the winner of the fight between champion Jhonny Gonzalez, and chalelnger Elio Rojas, who battle for the WBC title at featherweight.

'First I would like to unify the title against the WBC champion. I want to become the first Panamanian champion to unify titles in two different divisions. Then we are going to consider going up to another division," said Caballero. "Solis is a fighter who's career I followed, but I wasn't impressed with Uchiyama's fight. I'm a very different fighter [compared to Solis]," Caballero said.
