Caballero/Gomez Double in Play For HBOL on August 8

By Steve Kim

Sources have advised BoxingScene.com that IBF bantamweight beltholder, Randy Caballero, will be making his return to the ring on August 8th at his familiar haunts of the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California on a card that will be televised by HBO Latino.

The undefeated Caballero (22-0, 13 KO's) won the vacant title last October in a hard-fought affair versus Stuart Hall in Monaco. His first title defense was scheduled for February 27th against Albert Guevara but was scrapped when a cyst was discovered in the lower portion of his right leg, which required surgery. No opponent has been set this bout.

Veteran welterweight, Alfonso Gomez, will most likely be the co-feature on this night.

Good card. Alfonso Gomez is always fun to watch. I want to see him fight Berto or Maidana next.
