Kell Brook: Bizier is a Tough Customer, Anything Can Happen
IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook admits that he wanted a much bigger name, and a much bigger fight, for his scheduled return on March 26th in Sheffield.

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook admits that he wanted a much bigger name, and a much bigger fight, for his scheduled return on March 26th in Sheffield.

The welterweight title fight between Kell Brook and Kevin Bizier officially has a home. As suspected, the bout will take place March 26 in Brook's hometown of Sheffield, England. Members of both camps confirmed the news to BoxingScene.com on Wednesday.

Boxing Scene understands that Britain's Kell Brook’s (35-0, 24 KOs) second mandatory defence of his IBF World welterweight title against Canada's Kevin Bizier (25-2, 17 KOs) will take place on March 19 or 26 in Sheffield.

The International Boxing Federation has revealed that a deal was struck for IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) to make a mandatory defense of his title against Canadian contender Kevin Bizier (25-2, 17KOs). A March date is expected.

Contrary to popular opinion, talks remain ongoing for a welterweight showdown between unbeaten champion Kell Brook and mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier. The two sides have until January 12 to work out terms for such a fight before the matter goes to a purse bid hearing, to be held at the International Boxing Federation (IBF) headquarters in Springfield, New Jersey.

A deal could be reached this week for Kell Brook's next world title defence. The 35-fight unbeaten IBF World welterweight champion will face his mandatory challenger, Canada's Kevin Bizier (25-2, 17 KOs), early next year. A win for Brook could lead to a summer super-fight against fellow Brit and long time rival Amir Khan.

As BoxingScene.com reported a few days ago, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (35-0, 24KOs) will likely be forced to make a mandatory title defense in his upcoming return in early 2016. Brook's last mandatory defense was made when he knocked out Jo Jo Dan in four rounds on March 28th in Sheffield. He then made a voluntary defense in May with a sixth round TKO of Frankie Gavin.
