Brian Mendoza (22-3) is one of many in the boxing industry who is very interested in the outcome of the Tim Tszyu-Sebastian Fundora pay-per-view headliner that takes place on Saturday, March 30 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.  The card will be the inaugural Premier Boxing Champions’ event to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.

Mendoza knows the main eventers well, having shared the ring with both. He kicked off his 2023 campaign with an upset seventh-round knockout victory over Fundora. He was down on the scorecards when he caught and stopped the California native in dramatic fashion.

Six months later, Mendoza lost a 12-round unanimous decision to Tszyu on Tszyu’s home turf in Australia. Even though he lost a unanimous decision, Mendoza displayed tremendous heart in making it to the final bell.

The Premier Boxing Champions’ fighter expects a hard-fought battle between both men but favors the WBO super welterweight champion to defeat Fundora in a thrilling fight.

“It is an exciting matchup style-wise but I have Tszyu winning this one. I think that as long as Tim doesn’t get caught up with Fundora’s volume, he will be sharp with his counter punching and slow down Fundora with his body shots. It should be a fan-friendly fight,” Mendoza told BoxingScene.com.

Mendoza will also fight on the card. He is taking on Serhii Bohachuk (23-1) for the WBC interim super welterweight title. A victory could lead Mendoza to a rematch with the winner of the main event.

The vacant WBC super welterweight title will be at stake for the Tszyu versus Fundora winner.
