CARSON, Calif. – Brandun Lee survived the toughest test of his ascending six-year career by sneaking past Pedro Campa with a unanimous decision victory.

Unlike many of his contemporaries, Brandun Lee isn’t in a rush to get a title shot. The 23-year-old junior welterweight wants to take his time while developing, so that he is certain he is truly ready if that opportunity presents itself. Lee will take the next step in his progression against Pedro Campa on Saturday night in Carson, California.

Sebastian Fundora never weighs more than 160 pounds, not even when he isn’t training for a fight. The 6-foot-6 southpaw’s discipline paid dividends at the scale again Friday, when Fundora easily met his division’s limit for a 12-round, 154-pound title defense against Brian Mendoza. Fighting a hard-hitting former junior middleweight champion on short notice seemed like a tall order before Brian Mendoza’s last fight. Now that he has sent Jeison Rosario into an early retirement, Mendoza has accepted the tallest task of all within the 154-pound division. BoxingScene.com has confirmed that Mendoza will challenge Sebastian Fundora for “The Towering

Up until recently, the career of Brandun Lee has been smooth sailing. But while the 23-year-old has made it look incredibly easy in the ring, he experienced his first professional hiccup during the second half of his 2022 schedule.

WASHINGTON – Brandun Lee methodically dismantled Diego Luque on Saturday night. The hard-hitting junior welterweight contender stopped his overmatched opponent in the fourth round of a fight that was scheduled for eight rounds on the Gervonta Davis-Hector Luis Garcia undercard at Capital One Arena. The 23-year-old Lee didn’t drop the Argentinean veteran, but referee Kenny Bayless halted the action at 2:55 of the fourth round because Luque took numerous unanswered punches that prompted his trainer to throw in the towel.

WASHINGTON – Drama dominated the recent buildup toward Gervonta Davis’ fight against Hector Luis Garcia over the past 10 days. There was none of it at the scale Friday afternoon. Davis and Garcia both came in exactly one pound below the lightweight limit for their 12-round, 135-pound championship match Saturday night at Capital One Arena.
