Bradley Skeete: I'd Love The Winner of Pacquiao vs. Matthysse

With his European Title shot just a couple of weeks away, Bradley Skeete is hoping to elevate himself to world level if he wins.

Skeete takes on unbeaten Spaniard Kerman Lejarraga in Bilbao on April 28th for the European Welterweight Title.

Speaking on the BoxNation Podcast, he revealed that should he defeat Lejarraga in Spain, he would vacant the British Title that he won outright last year.

"I'm looking at this as a stepping stone to the future," said the 30-year-old. "I'm travelling abroad for the first time to fight away, fighting someone in his home town. I've got no problem in going out to people's backyards. I've done it as an amateur loads of times, and I can do it as a pro.

"As soon as I win this European Title I'll be moving on and vacating the [British] belt, and making way for all of the other domestic boys to take over. One in fact my teammate Johnny Garton, I think he'll be the next one."

Stablemate Garton has held both the Southern Area and English Titles in recent years, and Skeete is hoping the next step for 'The Pexican' will be the British crown.

Last year, Skeete was close to securing a World Title shot against Jeff Horn, but the Australian's team changed their minds and opted to face Gary Corcoran instead.

If he takes Lejarraga's high ranking with the WBA, 'Super' Skeete is eyeing the winner of Lucas Matthysse v Manny Pacquiao: "I think he's number six. That's another governing body. I'm not ranked with the WBA.

"Beat him and get his ranking with theWBA. Who knows,Matthysse has just got that World Title he's set to face MannyPacquiao [in July]. I'd love the winner of that!"

I feel sorry for Skeete. Never gets any credit or fame despite teaching many a boxer a lesson in the ring. He’s very long for a WW. Definitely gets avoided and I worry he’ll get robbed in Spain

Skeete needs to focus on what's in front of him, Lejarraga is no joke

Didn't Jeff Horn duck this guy? He's still shook at the idea of getting skeeted on by Skeete.
