Blair Cobbs: record, next fight and profile →
Alexis Rocha was willing to let Blair Cobbs do all of the talking as has been the case throughout the promotion. That was until he heard what his unbeaten counterpart had to say.
Alexis Rocha usually prefers to do his talking in the ring but made an exception for his next opponent. The normally reserved Rocha remains confident of conquering unbeaten and boisterous Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs in their makeshift DAZN main event this Saturday at USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. The fight was elevated from co-feature to headliner after Vergil Ortiz Jr.
By Jake Donovan - The mission remains the same for Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs. A stiff test awaits the outspoken welterweight, who next faces Alexis Rocha in a scheduled 10-round co-feature on Saturday’s DAZN show from USC Galen Center in Los Angeles. The hope is that—with a win—Cobbs can proceed with his usual list of more notable boxers with whom he’d prefer to share a ring.

The decision to face Blair Cobbs was a no-brainer for Alexis Rocha. So much, that it’s his second time accepting such an opportunity. “To be honest, the fight was offered to him for my last fight,” Rocha informed BoxingScene.com. “It is what it is. We were ready to fight him last time. It was offered it to him, but he didn't take it so we fought Jeovanis Barraza.”
Michael McKinson is poised to keep alive his stateside debut. BoxingScene.com has learned that Tijuana’s Jose Antonio ‘Ricky’ Perez Campos has been approved by the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) as a late replacement opponent to face England’s McKinson. Perez fills the void left behind when unbeaten welterweight contender Vergil Ortiz Jr. (18-0, 18KOs) was pulled from Saturday’s DAZN main event after being hospitalized earlier this week for rhabdomyolysis.
This Saturday, Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs was booked for his fourth consecutive appearance as an undercard fighter. His only concern coming out of his clash with Alexis Rocha is that it will mark the final time he has to play a supporting role on someone else’s show.
Blair ‘The Flair’ Cobbs is ready to save the show. The unbeaten and outspoken welterweight has offered his services to fill the void left in Saturday’s DAZN main event, in the wake of Vergil Ortiz Jr. having to withdraw from his scheduled bout with England’s Michael McKinson. Ortiz (18-0, 18KOs) was hospitalized and diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis, a serious medical condition that can be fatal or result in permanent disability according to a study by the CDC.
