Canelo Alvarez will clash with Billy Joe Saunders in a WBC, WBA Super, and WBO world super middleweight unification blockbuster on May 8, live worldwide on DAZN (except Mexico)

Hard Rock Stadium, Miami, Florida - WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders was a very interested party in Saturday's big fight, as he watched WBC, WBA super middleweight champ Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (55-1-2, 37 KOs) crush mandatory challenger Avni Yildirim (21-3, 12 KOs) in three rounds.

Promoter Eddie Hearn expects a very competitive fight when WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders steps in the ring with WBC, WBA champion Canelo Alvarez.

MIAMI GARDENS, Florida – Now that Canelo Alvarez has torn through the WBC’s mandatory challenger for his 168-pound championship, he can fully focus on the first of two title unification fights he hopes to win later this year.

Eddy Reynoso, the head trainer for Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, would like to see his boxer unify the entire super middleweight division in 2021. Back in December, Canelo captured the WBC, WBA titles at 168-pounds with a dominating twelve round decision over unbeaten Callum Smith.

Canelo Alvarez plans on being a busy boxer in 2021. The Mexican superstar Alvarez (54-1-2, 36 KOs) will return to the ring Feb. 27 for a mandatory defense of his WBC title against Avni Yildirim (21-2, 12 KOs) at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

It is too late to teach Billy Joe Saunders how to behave on social media, according to Eddie Hearn, who does not believe that Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will be put off facing him by his online reputation.

Eddie Hearn is expecting fireworks in Miami as Canelo Alvarez defends his WBC, WBA world super middleweight titles against Avni Yildirim at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida on February 27.

Eddie Hearn, promoter for WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, would like to see his boxer stay away from social media - at least for the next three months. During the last few years, Saunders has been involved in several controversial incidents with respect to items that he personally posted to social media.

Caleb Plant would have to fight perfectly, according to David Benavidez, to have a chance at beating Canelo Alvarez. Even then, Benavidez doesn’t think that the unbeaten IBF champion has the power to keep Alvarez off of him if they meet in a super middleweight title unification fight later this year. Billy Joe Saunders, on the other hand, has what Benavidez believes it’ll take to give Alvarez a very difficult fight.
