Unbeaten super middleweight puncher Edgar Berlanga (15-0, 15 KOs) is hoping to eventually meet a fighter who can last more than a single round.
Berlanga has knocked out all 15 of his opponents in the first round.
He returns to the ring on December 12th, at the MGM Grand's Conference Center in Las Vegas. The event will be headlined by Shakur Stevenson, who faces Toka Kahn-Clary.
The opponent on the other end, Ulises Sierra, has only been beaten once, by a top prospect, and he's never been stopped.
Berlanga will be taking part in his third ring appearance of 2020 - which serves him well during a year where fighters are struggling to see activity due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"This is going to be my third fight this year and I'm very happy about that. I want to finish it in a big way. This December 12th I want to have a good fight, because I feel like my name is already beginning to be known among boxing fans," Berlanga told George Ebro.
"We're going to find out on December 12th [if my knockout streak will continue]. This must be viewed as a big fight and we're going to know if that streak ends or if we're going to continue it. The truth is, I'll be ready to box when the time comes. I was in the gym today doing 10 rounds with three different boxers. I'm ready for what's coming. I want to keep winning and hopefully have an important fight, a superior fight where I can go for more rounds. I hope someone can survive the first round so I can prove what I can do inside the ring. Every fight is going to be bigger than the last one.
"I think I'm very close to being the new figure in Puerto Rican boxing, I think I'm very close to becoming Puerto Rico's next great boxing figure, I'm almost there. A lot of people support me and I'm from New York, where things happen.''
