Badou Jack is planning for a breakout performance when he challenges WBC light heavyweight world champion Adonis Stevenson.

Jack, who held the WBC title at 168 and the WBA title at 175, is traveling over toe Montreal to face Stevenson on May 19. The fight will be televised by Showtime and Sky Sports.

Jack was in action last August, when he made his 175 debut with a five round destruction of Nathan Cleverly to capture the WBA title. The contest took place on the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor undercard at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Jack is feeling a lot better, physically, since moving up in weight.

He says the seven additional pounds have made him not only stronger, but also faster. He felt that his training camp for Cleverly was a bit lackluster - and this time around things are a lot different.

"I feel way better now and preparation for this fight has been really good," Jack told Sky Sports. "I've been in pre-camp since my last outing so I'm already feeling sharp. I feel way better at this weight now. 175lb isn't easy to make either as I'm a naturally big guy but I'm more comfortable, faster and stronger than ever - this was the right move for me.

"My last training camp was the best I've ever had and I'm generally much happier. I can work more on the boxing side of things rather than worrying about stripping down. I have more energy and power behind my punches and I'm coming there to beat Stevenson up. I'm not going to play no games - I'm always looking for the knockout."

Jack is not underestimating the danger of Stevenson. He knows the Canadian star is a one-punch hitter - but the champion has also been very inactive over the last few years and his competition has been lacking. Jack is regarded as his best opponent in several years.

"Stevenson has a big punch and is a pretty good boxer too. He's not a dumb fighter or just a power puncher and he will bring it, this fight will be very exciting for all the fans," Jack said.

"I'm going to take his belt and become a three-time world champion, then, I want to unify the division. Stevenson first and after I'll take on all the other contenders."
