Argentinian Avenamar Peralta has passed away at the age of 71 in San Justo (Argentina). Peralta compiled a record of around 103-33-15-1 in a career that lasted from 1965 through 1982.

From 1970 he was based in Europe fighting all over the continent taking on all comers. During his long career he held the Argentinian, South American and Spanish light heavyweight titles and was in against the great Victor Galindez five times going 2-3.

Other names on his record include Pierre Fourie, Jorge Ahumada, Vicente Rondon, Tom Bethea, John Odhiambo, Jean Pierre Coopmans and Angelo Rottoli. Just like his older brother Gregorio he also moved up to heavyweight but had less success.
