Atif Shafiq: record, next fight and profile →
Brook vs. Rabchenko Undercard final press conference photos gallery - Kell Brook knows there is much at stake as he makes his light-middleweight bow this weekend and believes the experience will be akin to making his professional debut.
Rising Ingle Gym star Atif ‘Unique’ Shafiq is enjoying training camp in Fuerteventura as he prepares for his toughest test to date against Lee Appleyard. Shafiq and Appleyard will clash on March 3 at Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena on a show that will see the return of Kell Brook. The show, that will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, will see Shafiq and Appleyard square off in a title contest, in a fight that could arguably steal the show.
Kid Galahad will be back in the ring in a couple of months. The former British super-bantamweight champion, who is now up at featherweight, has been out since last July. But the 27-year-old will make a comeback on March 3 at the FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield, exclusively live on Sky Sports.
‘Unique’ Atif Shafiq continued his winning ways with an excellent points victory over former Celtic title challenger Rhys Saunders last Friday evening at Bramall Lane on an excellent night of boxing organised by former World title challenger Ryan Rhodes. Shafiq, who was accompanied on the card by Razaq Najib, Loua Nassa, and gym mate Kyle Yousaf, showed off his skills from the outset as he mixed up his combinations, leaving his opponent Saunders bewildered as he took shots from all angles.
Atif Shafiq will return to action on Saturday 21st at the Preston Guild Hall on ITV4 and he will be hoping to put a frustrating 2016 firmly behind him in the rear view mirror.
