BoixngScene.com was advised that a junior welterweight encounter between former champion Zab Judah (38-6, 26 KOs) and undefeated puncher Lucas Matthysse (27-0, 25 KOs) is close to a deal. I was told there are no major issues with the terms. The contracts have yet to be finalized. As we previously reported last week, Judah-Matthysse would headline an HBO televised card on November 6 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Former champion Robert Guerrero is scheduled to appear in the televised co-feature. There were rumblings of matching him against Nate Campbell, who is seriously considering a return to the lightweight division. HBO turned down Guerrero-Campbell. The likely opponent for Guerrero, at this moment, is Vicente Escobedo.
