(Macao) – Zou Shiming, China’s top boxer, is set to make his professional debut in Macao April 6 at the CotaiArena™. In town one week before the big event, Zou and his Top Rank® trainer Freddie Roach went to the Macau Youth Boxing Training Center in Hac Sa Wan Saturday evening to meet with local youth and aspiring boxers.

Thirty star-struck youth were on hand to welcome the pair to the Macau Youth Boxing Training Center. They arrived punctually at 6:30 pm, and after some welcoming remarks, they proceeded to give an inspiring talk to the gathered youth. Zou’s humble, forthright manner, interspersed with humour, set the roomful of youth at ease.

The three-time world title winner spoke of his background and his introduction to boxing, his rise in the amateur boxing world, and about the transition to his upcoming professional debut in Macao in a week’s time at the CotaiArena. The attentive audience hung on his every word, and during the question and answer period that followed, showed that they had listened well. Roach also spoke to the audience about training Zou ahead of the upcoming fight.

Afterwards, Zou and Roach offered several tips, and demonstrated a few moves in slow motion for the benefit of the students.
