Fresh from breaking the world record for the fast ever KO in a World Title fight, Zolani Tete is in the hunt for a unification.
Ryan Burnett currently holds the WBA 'Super' and IBF Bantamweight Titles, and Tete wants to put his WBO crown on the line against the Belfast boxer.
On Saturday night, Tete destroyed Siboniso Gonya with a monster right hook just six seconds in to their contest. The referee stopped the contest five seconds later with Gonya out cold.
Thankfully, Gonya made it back on his feet after receiving treatment from the medical team.
"I’ve been preparing so hard for this fight," Tete told BoxNation after the fight. I knew Gonya wasn’t going to last. I won in the first round!"
Tete quickly turned his attentions to a mouth-watering, three-belt unification with Burnett: "I would love to fight Ryan Burnett. I believe he stays here, this is his hometown, so we should see who is king of the Bantamweights.
"Ryan Burnett is in front of me now. He's got two titles, and that's what I'm looking for," he told iFL. "If he's the best, then he needs to fight the best. Let's make the fight happen!"
With that stunning victory at the SSE Arena, Tete broke the previous record that belonged to former WBO Super-Bantamweight Champion Daniel Jimenez. Back in 1994, the Puerto Rican swiftly dealt with Harald Geier in 17 seconds back.
