The undefeated WBC interim-middleweight champion Sebastian Zbik (29-0, 10KOs) has an interesting fight being waved in front of him against the son of the legendary boxer from Mexico, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (41-0), whose father, from 1984-1996 was the world champion at super featherweight (WBC), Lightweight (WBA / WBC) and Welterweight (IBF / WBC).

"If Zbik is ready, and we are. It would be a very, very good fight, we could hold it in September in Mexico City," Top Rank CEO Bob Arum told Lem Satterfield of BoxingScene.com a few days ago.

Zbik is currently preparing for his third title defense. On July 31 the 28-year-old southpaw from Schwerin in Hamburg meets the undefeated Argentine fighter Jorge Sebastian Heiland.

Universum Vice President Dietmar Poszwa said: "That would indeed be a very interesting fight [against Chavez], but Sebastion's focus for now is only on Jorge Heiland on July 31. Then we will sit together and consider all the options. The offers are coming and this is great because it shows the position of Sebastian. But you have to consider before any offer, that Sebastian's desired opponent is [WBC full champion] Sergio Martinez. The WBC has ordered this fight, but in boxing you know, anything is possible."
