Last Friday, the recognized Mexican Promoter Fernando Beltran, filed a lawsuit for libel and defamation of character with the Tijuana , MX, attorney general against Michael Miller. Beltran is represented by one of the best law offices of Mexico who prepared the lawsuit and who will seek damages.

Michael Miller, a known boxing representative, made some declarations to a well known boxing scribe in which he made several false accusations against Fernando Beltran.

"We will follow through with this case, the laws in our country and very just and clear and Mr. Miller broke many of them with his false declarations against me and my company," Beltran said.  "These declarations affect in one way or another the credibility that we have earned for so many years and after all the champions that Zanfer has produced for Mexico.

Editor's Note: While it's not stated in the actual letter sent over to BoxingScene.com, the lawsuit is almost certain to be related to Michael Miller's involvement as the attorney of WBC lightweight champion Humberto Soto, who recently declared himself a free agent from Zanfer and Top Rank. Miller had stated in an interview that Soto was owed close to a million dollars in connection with his past purses. He further stated that Soto's checks - which Miller says were issued from Beltran - were up to 60% less than what they should have been.
