Zach Parker will no longer fight later this month.

The former British super-middleweight champion had been set to return on October 26.

Parker, who has been out since an eight-round victory over Steven Crambert in Glasgow back in May, was scheduled to box at the O2 Arena in London.

The card on which Neil Marsh-managed Parker was meant to fight will be headlined by the World Boxing Super Series super-lightweight final and has a whole host of top talent on the undercard, with the card set to be screened exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN Stateside.

But the 25-year-old, from Derbyshire, has withdrawn from the contest after being put in a final eliminator by the WBO for the right to challenge Billy Joe Saunders.

Saunders returns on November 9 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, exclusively live on Sky Sports Box Office in the UK and DAZN Stateside, as part of the supporting cast to the rematch between KSI and Logan Paul when he defends his world title against Argentina’s 28-year-old Marcelo Esteban Coceres (28-0-1, 15 KOs).

And Parker (18-0, 12 KOs) will get to face the Hatfield ace should he beat Rohan Murdock (24-1, 17 KOs).

Murdock, 27, has been out of action since December 2018 when he won an unanimous decision over Rolando Wenceslao Mansilla at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

The purse bids for the fight are scheduled for October 17 at the World Boxing Organisation headquarter offices at San Juan, Puerto Rico.

“This is no fault of my own and I’m sorry for any who have got hotels or trains booked,” said Parker. “But I’m obviously going to pick a world title eliminator instead of an eight-rounder and I should know within the week when and where this fight will be.”

Parker’s absence from the card means that it is a fight light but still has on it some stellar names.

Josh Taylor’s unification clash against Regis Prograis tops the bill as the Scot puts his IBF crown on the line against the man from New Orleans, who has the WBA and WBC Diamond belts, while the vacant Ring Magazine bauble and the Muhammad Ali Trophy will also be at stake.

There is a crossroads lightweight dust-up between three-weight world champion Ricky Burns and ex-IBF featherweight king Lee Selby and Austin Williams, the undefeated American knockout artist, is set to make his UK debut on the bill.

Lawrence Okolie steps up in class from British level to take on Yves Ngabu in a challenge for the European cruiserweight title, there is an all-British heavyweight showdown between Dereck Chisora and David Price and Conor Benn will defend his WBA Continental welterweight title against Laszlo Toth alongside Abass Baraou and Shannon Courtenay.

Baraou is undefeated in seven and currently holds the WBC International title at super-welterweight. He will defend the belt against John O’Donnell, the former Commonwealth welterweight champion, when he makes his UK debut.
