Yuriorkis Gamboa To Make an ESPN Splash

ARENA-CEO Ahmet Öner is a very busy man at the moment. On his way to the purse bid for WBC Final Eliminator Juan Carlos Gomez vs. Vladimir Virchis in Mexico City today the promoter stopped by in New York, Miami and Los Angeles for several meetings.

One of the results of his negotiations: Cuban Olympic gold medallist Yuriorkis Gamboa (7-0, 6KOs) will fight twice in February. The good news for all American boxing fans: both bouts on February 8th and 22nd will be broadcasted LIVE on ESPN!

Ahmet Öner: “I’m very happy about this deal. Gamboa has turned pro less than nine months ago and is already shown on national US TV. That is something no German promoter has ever achieved before!

Gamboa is an exceptional talent. I’m sure that he is the coming pound-for-pound-superstar. I don’t know who should beat him!”
