Yuriorkis Gamboa: Domestic Violence Charges Dropped

On May 5th, BoxingScene.com reported that undefeated featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa was arrested on in Miami, Florida, by local police, for allegedly striking his wife after a verbal dispute. Following his arrest, the boxer was charged with domestic violence.

Gamboa's attorney, Robert M. Perez, advised BoxingScene that his client is no longer facing any charges related to that incident. On Wednesday, the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office announced a no-action in the case against Gamboa.  There was no evidence against Gamboa and the prosecution could not go forward with pending charges against the Cuban boxer.
