Korakuen Hall, Tokyo, Japan - 30-year-old Yu Kimura (13-2-1, 2KOs) of the Teiken Boxing Gym barely edged out Kencihi Horikawa (25-13-1, 4KOs) over ten rounds to capture the vacant Japanese junior flyweight title. Two judges scored it 96-95 to Kimura, and Horikawa got a 97-94 from the third judge. It was Kimura's fourth win a row since getting stopped by Ryoichi Taguchi in the sixth round in October of 2011 in the very same venue.
