Thailand's Denkaosan Kaovichit could get another shot at the world title against newly-crowned champion Yota Sato, his handlers said yesterday.

The 27-year-old Sato won the WBC super-flyweight title on Tuesday with a unanimous win over Thailand's Suriyan Sor Rungvisai.

The triumph has attracted offers from around the world including one from Thailand's Galaxy Boxing Promotions.

"This could be a good opportunity for Denkaosan to fight Sato," said Niwat Laosuwanwat, owner of Galaxy Boxing Promotions and manager of Denkaosan.

While Suriyan's camp has two options, Niwat said he was close to Sato's handlers.

"With my links to Sato's camp, you can't rule out Denkaosan against Sato. Anything can happen," he said.

Niwat added that he felt sorry for Suriyan as he thought the boxer should have been able to retain the title.

Meanwhile, Tepparith Singwangcha will make the second defence of his WBA super-flyweight title against Japan's Tomonobu Shimizu in Tokyo on Thursday.
