BoxingScene.com spoke to light middleweight Harry Joe Yorgey (22-0-1) about his upcoming November fight with Alfredo Angulo.  This up and coming prospect handed Ronald Hearns and Jason LeHoullier, handing bothe their first professional losses.  See what he has to say in this exclusive interview.

BoxingScene:  How is training going for your upcoming fight with Alfredo Angulo?

Harry Joe Yorgey:  Training is great.  We are doing a lot of conditioning and we just started sparring on Thursday.  I am right where Jack wants me to be right now.  We have been working hard in the gym and we are just starting to jell now.

Boxingscene:  What do you think is the key to the fight?

Harry Joe Yorgey:  You know I think it is going to be establishing the jab and my movement.  Listen a lot of guys are going with Angulo because he punches harder.  Angulo doesn't out box me.  You don't have to out punch him.  You just have to be in shape and keep him at bay with my jabs.  Being in shape is a big key and I always come in shape.

BoxingScene:  Did you guys study his fight versus Kermit Cintron?  He did a good job of moving and jabbing.

Harry Joe Yorgey:  Definitely.  Kermit and I are very good friends.  We live like twenty mintutes from each other back home.  I watched that fight when it was on and I taped it.  I actually thought that Kermit had the exact fight plan you need when you fight Angulo.  We are definitely working on those things in camp.

BoxingScene:  What do you think a win over Angulo does for you?

Harry Joe Yorgey:  People look at this fight and they see Alfredo Angulo fighting me.  I was basically like a secret for a long time coming up.  My former team kept me fighting back home all the time.  Once I got a chance to get out worldwide I showed what I can do.  I beat two undefeated guys and captured two world titles.  Now Angulo had been undefeated along time and only lost to Kermit.  If I beat him you have to look at the last three fighters I have fought combined.  Their records are like sixty something and one combined.  Here are two fighters ranked in the top ten in the world in Hearns and Angulo so I think that is an accomplishment.

BoxingScene:  Who is your new team?

Harry Joe Yorgey:  Right now I am managing my own career.  I had an ugly court battle with two fellows that I won.  I just feel I am at the point of my career that I just need to keep training and winning in the ring and everything will fall in place.  I am still being promoted by Banner Promotions and Artie Pellulo and he helps me with my career.  He is kind of my promoter and my angel right there.  He helps me out with a lot my decisions.  I know a lot about this game.  I have studied this game since I learned how to read.  I have just been managing myself right now.

BoxingScene:  How do you see the fight playing out?

Harry Joe Yorgey:  I see Angulo coming to fight.  He is an up and comer.  He only had that loss to Kermit.  He fought some guys with good records.  I see Angulo coming out trying to come out and get to number one in the world and get a world title shot.  He sees a guy like me number 7 in the world and I am ranked across the boards in all the sanctioning bodies so this is a fight with two guys ranked high in the world fighting on HBO.  I know that Angulo is going to keep coming at me and try to press me.  I just have to be the boxer puncher I always am.  I need to use all my skills and I think it is going to be a great fight.

BoxingScene:  Do you have a message for the fans?

Harry Joe Yorgey:  I love all my fans.  I have had a lot of people come out and see me fight since day one.  Even in the amateurs I would have over eight hundred people out there.  I just want the fans to know I appreciate it.  A lot of fans don't have that type of fan base.  They are like another arm in the ring for me.  Please come out to Connecticut if you can and if not watch it on HBO and I am going to bring back another victory to Bridgeport (PA) and Youngstown (OH), my second home now.  Also please check out my website harryyorgey.net.  I also would like to thank two guys who help out my marketing a lot, Frank Peca and Kurt Wolfheimer.
