Light heavyweight prospect Yair Gallardo will take on David Stevens in the 10-round main event of an April 25 show at Thunder Studios in Long Beach, California. The card will stream on DAZN beginning at 9 p.m. Eastern Time.
Gallardo, 9-0 (8 KOs), is a 21-year-old from Chihuahua, Mexico. He is coming off a first-round knockout of the 7-1 Carlos Miranda on the undercard of a February 15 show promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Gallardo has scored four straight KOs.
Stevens, 14-2 (10 KOs), is a 24-year-old from Reading, Pennsylvania, who has fought mostly at super middleweight in recent years. Stevens is 1-2 in his last three outings. He was put away in one round by Joeshon James in October 2023 but performed much better last November, when he lost a 12-round split decision to Bektemir Melikuziev. In-between the bouts with James and Melikuziev, Stevens notched a two-minute TKO of the 14-5 Sergio Nahuel Lopez last June.
In the co-feature, junior lightweight prospect Justin Viloria, 8-0 (6 KOs) will take on Alejandro Yung Wong, 12-1 (6 KOs).
And the undercard is also scheduled to include separate bouts with two other junior lightweights: Leonardo Rubalcava, 9-0-1 (3 KOs), will compete in a six-rounder, while Manuel Avila, 25-2-1 (9 KOs), will fight in an eight-rounder. Their opponents have not yet been announced.
