(COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO.) - The inaugural season of the World Series of Boxing (WSB) will kick off in less than a month, and all four of the Americas franchises have finalized their official team names and identities. The four team names showcase the unique personalities of each of the squads, which are located in Miami, Memphis, Mexico City and Los Angeles.

"All four American teams have chosen identities that reflect the strength of their teams and the communities in which they are based," World Series of Boxing Americas Managing Director Eric Parthen said. "We look forward to kicking off the season in less than a month and showcasing the skills and talents of our outstanding boxers."

The Miami squad was the first to reveal their official team name - the Miami Gallos, which loosely translated means gamecock. Miami General Manager Mike Sophia believes that the team's name will showcase the personality of both the team and the city of Miami.  "The name has a connotation of 'proud fighter'," Sophia said.  "It is also a unique identity that we hope will connect well with our local culture, our community and our fans."

The Memphis franchise has selected the Memphis Force as the team name for their World Series of Boxing franchise. The name will showcase the physical and mental strength of the Memphis team as well as the proud history of its host city. "We believe that the Force is a perfect representation of our powerful and talented team of boxers," Memphis Force head coach Anthony Bradley said. "The boxing world will see that Memphis is a force to be reckoned with when we kick off the season in November in Mexico City."

The WSB Americas franchise in Mexico City has locked down their official moniker as well. The squad has selected the name, Guerreros, which means warriors in English, to represent Mexican tradition, Aztec culture and the great eagle Aztec warriors.

"I believe we have found the perfect team name and logo to represent our proud city and its rich traditions," said Mexico City Guerreros Event Director Gerardo Saldivar.  "The Guerreros look forward to embracing what these warriors have come to represent in Mexican culture and our team will box with strength, aggression and a spirited competitiveness."

The Los Angeles squad was the final WSB Americas franchise to select their official team name, and they have chosen the powerful image, Matadors, to represent their squad.  The matador is considered to be both an artist and athlete, possessing great agility, grace and coordination and Los Angeles Matadors Chief Marketing Officer Rich Orosco believes the team's identity and skill in the ring will resonate with LA boxing fans.

"The matador is considered a hero in Latin cultures and we feel the team has created a truly distinctive identity," said Orosco. "The development of our team is underway with talented boxers and coaches, a great team name and brand, and now we'll work to create a squad that performs with skill, honor and athleticism throughout the WSB's inaugural season."

The Mexico City Guerreros will host the opening match of the World Series of Boxing Americas inaugural season as they take on the Memphis Force on Saturday, November 20.
