World Boxing Super Series: With Scandinavian network MTG/Viasat as one of the investors in Comosa AG - who are organizing the WBSS Tournament - it was only natural to see a Scandinavian enter and Erik Skoglund, 26-0 is now on.

Skoglund have never fought at super middleweight, and there will no tuneup. He´s world ranked at light heavyweight and could be one of four seeded fighters. If yes, the planned Sauerland show on September 30 in Stockholm could be the site for Skoglund vs TBA in one of the quarterfinals of the WBSS.

Thus far the WBSS have had a clear dominance of European fighters and while the fighters that have entered are all good, one still has to ask who´s going to sell PPV events / tickets and another question is where are the Americans?

Heavyweights Francesco Pianeta (33-2-1) and Ozcan Cetinkaya (25-11-2) clash for the vacant IBO International title on July 8 in Gelsenkirchen.

Pianeta, now promoted by Petko´s Boxpromotion after previously being with SES and before that with Sauerland Event, has lost twice in world title fights. Cetinkaya holds the Int´l German title and has been a pro since 2003.

The vacant EU super welterweight title will be contested between Joffrey Jacob, 16-0-1 and reigning French champ, and Maxime Beaussire (24-1-1) in another hot domestic showdown.

Beaussire lost a close decision to Zakaria Attou, who now have relinquished the title, in April but bounced back in June with a stoppage win over Ambrose Sutizde. The EBU have set July 31 as deadline of agreement or purse bids.
