The upcoming light-welterweight battle between exciting scrappers, Curtis Woodhouse and Dave Ryan, received a significant elevation this week as the British Boxing Board of Control decided that the contest was worthy of English championship status. With supporters of both already anticipating a domestic classic, promoter Dave Coldwell is confident that the belt incentive will guarantee both fighters will leave everything in the ring.
“Even without the English title, I was always confident that this fight was going to hit the right notes with fight fans,” claimed an excited Coldwell. “Whoever wins the belt is going to have to do it the hard way as both are known for being exciting fighters and neither will be prepared to take a backward step in this one. The winner of this fight will find themselves in a promising position and will be a step closer to a Lonsdale shot so there’s no way they’ll be giving less than 100%. Fan’s are in for a real treat and it wouldn’t surprise me if we seen one of the best fights of 2012”
“The Warrior Returns” featuring Curtis Woodhouse v Dave Ryan for the English 10st title takes place at The Magna Centre, Rotherham on September 28th. Tickets can be obtained via WWW.COLDWELLBOXING.COM. Follow Coldwell Boxing on Twitter at @davidcoldwell.
