The Chicago Sun-Times reports that heavyweight Andrew Golota is facing a lawsuit over a traffic accident that took place in April and left a woman partially disabled. The plaintiff, Juliet Mendez, claims that Golota blew a stop sign and crashed a 2007 Lexus into the side of her 1999 Chevy Malibu on April 6.
Mendez, 18, is alleging that Golota "permanently injured her back and neck," seeking over $50,000 for her injuries. Golota only received a ticket at the scene and the charges were later dropped. No ambulance was called at the time of the crash and accident reports only indicate property damage.
The paper reports that Golota is no stranger to car accidents, noting that in 2003 he settled a civil suit stemming from a traffic accident by paying $500,000, and settled a 1999 case for $60,000.
