In an earlier story on BoxingScene.com, IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage responded to the recent challenges that were made by title contender Pawel Wolak. K9 insinuated that Wolak's team may try to influence the IBF's decision to not sanction a potential fight with Ricardo Mayorga as a title fight. Wolak found that statement laughable.  

"How could me or my team sabotage a Feline Bundrage and Ricardo Mayorga fight?  They are both Don King fighters.  I do think if he is dumb enough to take that fight that he will lose in Nicaragua.  But I don’t think the IBF will allow that fight.  Mayorga, while kind of entertaining probably isn't ranked or if he is it would be very low.  How old is he?  Are they trying to make this the geriatric championship?" Wolak told BoxingScene.

In the same story Bundrage said that because his next fight is a voluntary defense that he would make a business decision when selecting his next opponent. He said that he would be looking for the fight that makes the most dollars and sense. Wolak had a response for that statement as well.

"I am not his mandatory so he doesn’t have to fight me, yet.  Top Rank is never going to pay him hundreds of thousands of dollars to fight me and will never give Don King options on me.  That dude couldn't even get his last title fight on TV and I am offering him a pay-per-view show on December 3rd on the Cotto-Margarito date.  He is barking like crazy.  Nobody wants to fight him and I am giving him a gift and he is just looking the gift horse right in the mouth.  Feline Bundrage should recognize his worth and give me a shot."

Wolak said that while he respects Bundrage, the former Contender series participant needs a bigger name on hs resume so he will be recognized as a legitimate champion. Wolak feels that he would fit that bill. 

"He is a good fighter but the world wants to see how good he really is. If he beats me, all questions about him being a legitimate title holder go away as he has never been pressured like he would be with me and he will be tested to the end.  It will kind of be like the tail wagging the dog."

Wolak feels that a fight with Bundrage makes sense for both fighters. Wolak will get the title shot he craves while he also believes that a fight on the Cotto undercard will be the most lucrative opportunity out there for K9.  

Wolak said, "Like he said, I am not his mandatory, yet.  If I have to go to plan B to become his mandatory so be it and he will be forced to take what will likely be less money on a lesser card than the Cotto pay-per-view show on December 3rd which will be bananas.  He won't get on that historic show with any other fighter."
