Emanuel Steward, the trainer for WBO/IBO/IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko, still hopes a fight with WBA heavyweight champion David Haye takes place. Talks for a July 2 fight recently fell apart. Klitschko will face Dereck Chisora on April 30, and a fight with Tomasz Adamek is close to being finalized for September. If Haye changes his mind on a July fight, Klitschko is ready.
"I would like to see it," Steward told Reuters. "David is a very talented fighter. I like him. I needle him a lot back and forth because he likes to do the media hype, but I respect him a lot. Wladimir says he intends to be ready to fight on July 2."
Steward is not overlooking the challenge of Chisora. He considers Chisora very dangerous opponent.
"To me, the confidence, the ambition, the burning desire of a fighter is a lot more dangerous to me than that of an experienced fighter," said Steward. "I've always felt that Chisora was a tough fight and I'm really not that super excited about it."
