WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko recently discussed his next opponent, unbeaten British fighter Derek Chisora. Klitschko will defend his titles against Chisora on December 11 in Germany. The critics have attacked Klitschko for his recent selection because Chisora only has 14 fights on his record. Klitschko is not listending to the critics. He is expecting a real fight from Chisora.
"He returning from a convincing victory in his last fight, where he became the owner of British Commonwealth title. People have said that it's still early for him to fight the champion because he's only had 14 fights in the professional ranks. But I've already answered that, and gave an example of how Leon Spinks became the world champion in his eighth pro fight. And he didn't beat a nobody, he beat Muhammad Ali," Klitschko told Bleak.
Klitschko ran into Chisora in Hamburg. He clearly saw the challenger was not afraid. Klitschko respects him a lot more than British boxer David Haye, the WBA champion at heavyweight.
"I also want to note another detail - I could clearly see that Chisora has no fear. The Briton was in Hamburg for Vitali's fight. He uttered a bunch of big words on German TV about how he was going to torture me in the ring. So, I think, our fight with Derek will be very interesting. Especially since Chisora is a really talented boxer who, above everything else, is not looking for some excuse, and he really wants our fight," Klitschko said.
