As reported on BoxingScene, Tim Witherspoon was scheduled for a comeback fight this Friday; however the bout has been cancelled. BoxingScene learned of the news last night and contacted Witherspoon.
The Power Production card is still on, but Tim’s fight is off because “not enough money”, Witherspoon told BoxingScene. Witherspoon indicated the early money negotiation was good, but that was before Tim was approved and licensed to fight. “Then they tried to pay small money and no gate. We had the opponent and (the promoter) didn’t want to pay for the guy’s neuro test.”
No comment from the promoter’s office, except for a ‘we’ll call you later’, was made. The phone contact and emails have not been returned.
