Junior middleweight contender Willie Nelson recently contacted BoxingScene.com to make it known that he is available to face the WBC's #1 ranked challenger in the junior middleweight division.  Nelson, who is ranked #4 by the organization, said that he is willing to face Sergey Rabchenko in a final eliminator or for the vacant title should the champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. decide to relinquish the belt and campaign at welterweight.

"Rabchenko says he is the mandatory but I am the next highest ranked contender.  I want to fight Rabchenko in a final eliminator or for the vacant title if Floyd drops the belt," Nelson explained.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is ranked #2 by the organization but has already agreed to terms to face Alfredo Angulo on March 8th.  Miguel Cotto is ranked #3 but will likely move up to the middleweight division to face WBC champion Sergio Martinez on June 7th.

Nelson is back training at full speed after recent surgery on his elbow.
