British Heavyweight Danny Williams recently told the press in England that he is shocked by the lack of American talent in the heavyweight division. In the opinion of Williams, Europeans have taken over the division and will continue to be the gatekeepers for a long time.
"I am shocked by the lack of talent in America and they are going to have a long drought. They have no-one to be respected and there is no-one coming through. Only one American, Hasim Rahman, is champion, and he has not even won a fight yet. The Europeans are on top and suddenly the Americans have to come over here to get big fights," Williams said.
Williams is hoping to land a title shot against one of the three European champions by the end of the year.
"Wladimir Klitschko has proved himself the top man at the moment and (Sergei) Liakhovich can fight, but I think (Nikolai) Valuev would be the easiest fight for me out there.
