Two common opponents for Andre Ward and Allan Green are split over the outcome of the super middleweight clash on June 19 at Oracle Arena. Ward defends his WBA title against Green as part of the Super Six Boxing Classic. Green makes his Super Six debut, replacing Jermain Taylor who withdrew from the tourney.
Jerson Ravelo sees it as a very close fight that could go either way. Ravelo gives Ward the edge in skill, but it's not going to be a walkover for either fight.
"If you asked me who's the better fighter, I would say Ward is a more polished fighter," Ravelo said to The Oakland Tribune. "But they both have speed, they both have power, they're both smart guys in the ring. I think this fight could go either way."
"People are saying, Allan Green has the power. That's bull because Andre Ward has just as much power as Allan Green does. Andre Ward has better precision."
Rubin Williams on the other hand sees an easy win for Ward. He says 2004 Olympic gold medal winner is too much for Green.
"I think Ward has more arsenal to bring to the fight, more things he can do to get him the win," Williams said. "I actually think he's going to win fairly easily"
"[Green's] left hook is very, very, very good. But I believe Andre Ward is such a good fighter "... he'll be prepared for it and he won't get hit with it. Ward can adapt to things better. I can just see Allan Green coming forward, trying to jab him and set up the left hook. That's all he'll be doing."
