Former undisputed junior middleweight champion Winky Wright took a beating from Paul Williams on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. Williams, fighting in a differing weight class for the fourth time in a row, is looking to move down and look for bigger fights with guys like Shane Mosley and Miguel Cotto, who are welterweights. Williams has an interim-title at junior middleweight, but he dominated a very game Wright at the middleweight level.

When asked about Williams chances against the bigger punchers at the middleweight level like WBC/WBO champion Kelly Pavlik and IBF champion Arthur Abraham, Wright said the young fighter has the tools to beat either champion. He feels that Williams' very high output of punches, combined with his 82-inch reach and constant movement will be a real problem for any fighter.

"Yeah, he throws a lot of punches. He will be a problem for anybody. You always have to be ready to counter with punches. Yeah, he's capable of doing it," Wright said.
