On January 28th, former New York Golden Gloves champ/amateur standout, junior welterweight William Shamar Whitt (1-0), made his professional debut with a four round majority decision over the always tough Jason Sia (0-4) at the Paramount in Huntington, New York. Behind a stiff jab William was able to set up his body shots and counter punches. In rounds three and four it looked as if William was going take his opponent out but Jason Sia stuck in and took the hard shots.
William is looking to make his ring return in March.
