WBO super bantamweight champion Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. (19-0, 16KOs) is ready for the challenge of Nonito Donaire. Recently BoxingScene.com reported the plan of Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who wants to match Donaire against WBO/WBC bantamweight champion Fernando Montiel. If Donaire wins, Arum would like to put him in the ring with Vazquez.

Vazquez's promoter "Tuto" Zabala Jr. of All Star Boxing likes Arum's idea. Vazquez himself is very interested in the fight. Zabala is trying to line up a fight for Vazquez in Septemer or October and it will take place in Puerto Rico or Florida.

"That is what Arum has talked about, but right now we are working on making a defense in September or October in one of those two places. We are working on that right now and the opponent has to be a top contender.  We would like to finish 2010 with four defenses of the title. What Arum is talking about would be in early 2011. This is a business and we have to sit down and talk," Zabala told Reymund Colon.
