According to Russian promoter Andrei Ryabinsky, 30-year-old cruiserweight contender Dmitry Kudryashov (18-1, 18KOs) of Russian will return on May 21 in Moscow, as part of the undercard to the heavyweight battle between WBC champion Deontay Wilder and mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin.

Kudryashov is coming back from the first loss of his career. He was knocked out in two rounds by Olanrewaju Durodola in Kazan, as part of the Povetkin-Mariusz Wach undercard.

Prior to the defeat, he was seen as a major rising force at the weight with crushing knockout wins over such fighters like former world champion Juan Carlos Gomez.

After his loss to Durodola, it was claimed that his opponent tested positive for a banned substance but he was late cleared of any wrongdoing by the World Boxing Council, who sanctioned the fight for one of their intermediary titles.

The puncher traveled over to America to upgrade his skills and become a better fighter.

"Dmitry Kudryashov will fight in Moscow on May 21 as part of the undercard to the Povetkin-Wilder fight," Ryabinsky said. "Kudryashov will return even better after an upgrade in America. On May 21 he will be a completely new Dmitry."

Recall that last November Kudryashov suffered the first defeat of his career, losing by TKO in the 2nd round of the Nigerian Olanrewaju Durodola (link is external).
