Terence Crawford and Yuriorkis Gamboa both made weight for their lightweight title fight, which comes Saturday evening at CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Crawford (23-0, 16KO) was bone-dry at Friday's weigh-in and barely on the scales long enough for his official weight to register, but the hometown favorite came in at 134.8 lb. Gamboa tipped the scales at a sculpted 134.4 lb. in an attempt to win a major title in his second weight class (interim titles excluded).

Their official weigh-in was met with Crawford sucking down a thermos full of water before the two fighters engaged in an intense staredown. The session lasted long enough to where they had to be encouraged to turn towards the cameras rather than remain locked in towards each other.

Crawford makes the first defense of the lightweight belt he acquired on the road, defeating Ricky Burns in Glasgow, Scotland this past March.

Gamboa fights for the first time in more than a year. The extraordinarily talented Cuban boxer is a former featherweight champ, after having embarked on an aggressive schedule early in his career. Recent years have been plagued by inactivity, but he has exuded nothing but confidence heading into Saturday's showdown.

The televised co-feature pits Matt Korobov and Jose Uzcategui in a 10-round middleweight bout. The pair of unbeaten middleweights both weighed in at 160 lb. though it required Uzcategui stripping down to his birthday suit to hit the mark on his second attempt.

Both fighters make their HBO-televised debut, with the winner being groomed as a challenger for unbeaten middleweight titlist Peter Quillin.
