The eight fighters involved in title action on Eddie Hearn’s “High Stakes” bill at the Manchester Arena all hit the scales and their weight targets during today’s weigh-in.
Bury’s Scott Quigg (30-0-2, 22 early) came in at 8st 9lbs 12oz for his WBA World Super bantamweight defence against former IBF titlist Kiko Martinez (32-5, 24 KOs). Spain’s Martinez weighed 8st 9lbs 10oz for his latest title crack.
Next up was WBA World lightweight holder Darleys Perez (31-1, 20 stoppages); the Colombian weighed in at 9st 8lbs 8oz for his defence against Manchester’s Anthony Crolla (29-4-2, 11 KOs). The challenger weighed exactly the same.
There is a brace of British title fights on the bill. Birmingham's Sam Eggington (15-2, 9 KOs) weighed 10st 6lbs 12oz for his vacant welterweight title meeting with Sunderland's Glenn Foot (15-0, 6 early), who came in slightly lighter at 10st 5lbs 8oz. Eggington's Commonwealth title will also be on the line.
Huddersfield Tyrone Nurse (31-2, 6 stoppages) and Swansea's Chris Jenkins (16-0, 8 KOs) contest the vacant light-weltweight title. Nurse came in at 9st 13lbs 8oz to Jenkins’s 9st 13lbs.
