The President of the World Boxing Organization, Francisco 'Paco' Valcarcel, said former featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez is already suspended for a period of one year, which prevents him from participating in WBO title fights and he's banned from the WBO rankings. Juanma is being punished for unsportsmanlike conduct - pertaining to Saturday's post-fight outburst against referee Roberto Ramirez.

After getting stopped by Orlando Salido in ten rounds, Juanma conducted a live television interview and accused the referee of being a gambler. Juanma has five days to show cause why he shouldn't be suspended.

"He has five days to show us why we should rescind the suspension. Right now [Juanma] is suspended for one year. We are giving him a chance to convince us to [reconsider the suspension] in five days. And we took apology into consideration," said the WBO's President.

"His expressions were very misguided and unfounded. I know it was a moment of frustration but you have to know how to behave at all times. This is a sport where you win and lose."
