World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman is very happy that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has hired Hall of Fame trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain to prepare him for the upcoming fight with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Canelo is handled by the father and son training team of Eddie and Chepo Reynoso.

Canelo vs. Chavez Jr. takes place on May 6th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The HBO Pay-Per-View fight will take place at a catch-weight of 164.5-pounds.

Chavez Jr. is being physically prepared and conditioned by Angel "Memo" Heredia.

Nacho and Memo have worked together several times, as part of the training team for former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez.

Chavez Jr. is pegged as the underdog in the fight, because of his inactivity and well know reputation for not taking things seriously in training camp. He's also struggled with his weight for several years and fought as high as 172-pounds.

For his last contest, in December, took place at the super middleweight limit and he came in at 167.5-pounds - which was the first time he weighed that low since 2014. Chavez has not weighed any lowed than that since 2012, when he still fought in the middleweight division.

"Beristain is based on discipline and that is the most important component for Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. - discipline. If Beristain manages to impose an order of discipline on the training process it will be very positive for [Chavez Jr.]," said Sulaiman to ESPN Deportes. "Nacho is a great strategist, a trainer who has been tested many times in the past."

The WBC is creating a special title belt, which is going to be presented to the winner.
